For Italy, I didn’t buy a rail pass opting for discounted one way train tickets – I really liked Italio and was able to upgrade to business class for a solo seat on the window.

Your private tour of Sorrento sounds really wonderful and I was wondering if you would be willing to provide me with Marcello’s contact information so that I could set up something similar during my visit. My trip is 12 nights, spending 1 night in Milan, 3 nights in Florence, 2 nights in Rome, 3 nights in Sorrento, and 3 nights in Venice. Does this sound like a good plan? Any other advice re: traveling in Italy would be greatly appreciated. I included my e-mail.
