Since the lounge is at the end of the studio cabins behind a door, the location of your cabin will help avoid any noise including the door open/close. The lounge has a few tvs, bar area, lounge seating and a few vending machines open only to those staying in the studios. Plus a coffee station.
]]>Sorry to hear that, don’t know what TA you were on, I was on the Epic in Nov and it was great but I totally understand your situation and I would have been peved off too in your circumstance too. Don’t let one cruise put you off
]]>Hi Eileen – I’m glad you enjoyed the food on EPIC and had a better experience than I did. I didn’t write about the food on this cruise because I had hoped it was a one-off. I spoke with a travel agent friend who sails NCL exclusively throughout the year for more than 10 years and he seemed to think it was a one off too. My comment on the food to Paul from Canada below (who is an avid cruiser who enjoys food) was a consensus from the experienced cruisers on this particular transatlantic EPIC cruise that the food (and service) was bad. We all complained on the ship, in the response cards and after the cruise. We have all traveled other ships/lines/itineraries and usually a transatlantic is when the ships flip to a new crew and there are usually a few blips that we all anticipated but we had unusual encounters/incidents. There was really a long list at the time. It was almost a mutiny!
]]>The food was far from horrible I don’t know what you eat in this case. I’d be interested to know what you didn’t like?
]]>I’m also a middle aged lady & I traveled alone on a cruise for the first time in April, and was thrilled with the solo travelers group. We had so much fun at the happy hours, couples started joining us on a daily basis.
(There was no studio area- smaller, older ship)
Marie – what a fabulous trip to look forward to! What’s great about a cruise is that you can choose to tour solo, join a private group (check out the cruise critic board for your cruise), do a ship tour or find new friends onboard to travel together. I love the diversity of choice and love Europe! I’ve booked clients on the EPIC solo and they loved it, I’m sure you will too!
